Genius -- the William Blake of Today
Remiet, Balthus, and even Blake himself are no better than this at expressing the pain, and wonder, and passion of recognizing our great gift and the weight of its short life. The need to leave a fixed represention of having breathed deeply, looked at the sky and known that you were blessed and cursed.

The true perspective of Linearity
I have found in the arts when you find something that catches your attention you seek to find more about the artist and try to understand what has influenced the artist to create their work. In this case though I had a chance to meet the artist first and after a long talk in a shitty restaurant with her I was able to gain some insight into the artist’s perspective prior to reviewing her work. I have found the works here to be a very interesting reflection of the artist, in that they are as compelling and driven as the artist herself. From simple reflection to the duality of relationships to the utter chaos of life in general, has been exhibited her works. Moving forward, the exploration into other mediums should provide an excellent venue for her to express her unconstrained viewpoint on the world that surrounds us all.

Loved meeting you last year in N.O. your painting we bought is hanging next to our fireplace.... it is beautifully morbid there. We got your letter about you moving. You should give Brooklyn another try.... although if you saw what DUMBO has become you would cry........ or light a match to it. But there is still an amazing art community here...... We will continue to follow your work....especially now that we have your site info. Thank you for the letter. WE LOVE IT.

I will collect your art
I met you 1 1/2 years ago in N.O. before the hurricane. You were in an alleyway standing with a beau. Shy yet strong, your art called me from across the street. I purchased an eerie painging in which we discovered has many hidden faces in it. To study your painting is to understand the many facets that inspire you to paint. Keep going, I will be excited to see your progress as I purchase two more today. One day.....in a gallery.....if you so desire.

Priveleged
Words cant really express how priveleged i feel to have conceived and brought into this crazy world such a beautiful, sincere, and incredibly talented human being. It sometimes bewilders me when i study the amazing pieces on your website as to where genetically your gift could possibly have come from. I guess I should simply be honored that i merely passed it on somehow, if genetics played a role. Your work is so meaningful to so many, and although i know that fame and fortune are not your intention in this world, i see your future as one writer mentioned above, "a perfect server of the Art"...be sure to keep ever mindful of the impact your work has on humanity and the world. The work of a cognizant
The paintings (the arcylic ones) that I saw in this website, along with those you displayed in Union Sqaure, have continued to spell out their stories: stories of what you have seen, heard, and often--felt. I like you work, but the one that I love is the one titled "Introvert in an Extroverted city" in the 2003: Isolated Logic category. -Lawrence

Questions Answered..Thankfully!
Jamie, I met you in December '04 - you were doing some eye-catching tricks with an orb on a street corner in NOLA. We shared a coffee, some smokes, and a great conversation about life, politics, philosophy,...and on and on. I never forgot the conversation or you. When Katrina hit, I was so worried about you - looked for a phone number (the line obviously wasn't working) and would think constantly about how you were doing. Today, I did a google search on you - and am so happy that I did! Just knowing you're doing fine, well, it makes this world a better place! You're an incredible artist and an even greater human being and spirit. I thank the stars that I had the chance to meet and share conversation with you. - Joe

Truth
Charles Hawthorne once said, "We walk past miles of canvases, being able to find no technical fault with any, until suddenly we are halted by one, perhaps ugly in its choice of subject, but which is immortalized by its expression of truth."

You Captured My Soul in Your Book
Dear Jamie, How can I ever begin to thank you for the book you created for me? As I knew it would, it did— it made me cry. I felt as if you somehow, in some mystical way, entered into my soul and drew forth your creation from there. Jamie, it's BEYOND BEAUTIFUL. It's even beyond a work of art. I can't even really put words to it. I thank you over and over (and Brian Visel too) for such a treasure. You (and Brian) put your heart and soul into it with such love and passion, it reeks of it on every page. And I really felt so connected with Joseph Campbell, who I totally love. You're an amazing artist, an amazing writer, an amazing human being and an amazing soul. I hope this won't be the last time our paths cross. You're in my heart, always. Peace wherever life leads you. And go wherever you're called with no shame and no hesitation. Be blessed. Love Always, Dawn Marie

Message from Richmond
Nov. 2005, I received a note that you were leaving New Orleans to "follow art & life elsewhere". It made me smile. On a busy day in new Orleans, as I rushed past many artists,a very small piece you did caught my eye. It hung from the heavy iron fence along the street. I talked with you at length and bought it. This small drawing is centered in a large matted frame hanging in my daughters piano room where I see it everyday. Bless you.

Similarities
We seem to have a great deal in common, with regards to the reasons for chosing art as a medium for understanding ourselves and the world in which we have been born. I would love to open a dialog with you, if you should so desire. My earlier body of work was much like yours-- based on the very same personal essays, and conclusive thoughts. My present work deals exclusively with the language in which thought is expressed, within the minds of individuals. Please send a couple of lines, when you are able. And continue to do as you do, regardless of the world's perception of you. They owe us more than they know.

I liked reading your statment
Hi Jamie: It's you cousin Peter. Wow! Your art is is very good. I will probably end up buying some. This comment is more directed at your statment. Have you ever read Eckart Tolle. Based on your site, I think you would enjoy his book "A new Earth". It is a book of spirituality. Here is one of his messages: Your mind is based on ego. You are not your mind. If your not your mind, than who are you? The one who knows that. The awareness that is prior to all thought. The very space that is created for thought to take place. I am not trying to push spirituality on you, but it seems as though you reflect an interest in it. if i had to guess, I would say you are very spiritual. Budha means Man, No. Budha talked about how life is not as serious as our minds try to tell us it is. Your statment suggest that your are in a continual search for the meaning behind your art. Perhaps that's it. If not, like I said, I realy like your work.

Hauntingly beautiful...
Jamie,I love the sense of mystery that your work has. Mystery is important. There is a tendency in this "modern day world" to explain things to death. Your work hauntingly reminds me of something that one might find painted on the walls of a basement of an old deserted house.Or something vaguely remembered having been seen in a dream. And looking through your website I'm impressed by the sheer volume of work that you have produced through the years. Hope to see you again at the next Brooklyn Big Art Show(April 14th at Supreme Trading in Williamsburg)

I saw you speaking to some musicians on the train tonight and I noticed a postcard that you gave to the gentleman. It had a painting of yours on it and the image--though only flashed before me briefly--moved me. I managed to steal another glance at it and see the web address on the back; I'm glad I remembered it. I hope that your talent is appropriately rewarded, even if that is merely the means to continue your craft. I wish you well.

In The Cold
Again I find myself searching for nothing and come upon a display of self expression and profound works. And though I do see a waste in your nicotine, I said nothing but offered my hand and then another to what I once upon impulse considered a strange crackpot of a girl. Though in making my way here through invitation, I find a pleasant surprise that I held the hand of an artist. And quite so funny still is the vision by which I held you in mind-a small freezing entity, almost child like and daring. But now I see that truly I was graced by a demigod of sorts, and like althena revealing wisdom to Homer along his voyage, I now too have but a taste of yours. Something about using the cold...Something I still can't remove from my thoughts. It was a great something and for that something I thank you. Continue to inspire and passify as you have done me.

Thank you for the letter.
Hi, Jamie. Thank you so much for your letter of June 4th. I love the manner in which you typed it on an old page torn from a book. Thank you, as well for the calendar, but mainly for the picture you drew. It took me right back - instantly - to my meeting you on that street corner in NOLA. Wow. I'm choked up, and nearly speechless. I hope you realize the incredible affect you have on people - in your art, your way with words, and your glowing aura. You stated in your letter things may be changing for you. I wish you nothing but the best, and hope wherever you end up - you take it by storm, just by being you. Please leave a way to get in touch with you (even if it remains this webpage). Always, Joe

Just finished reading Madame Bovary. This piece of yours reminds me of it, in part because of the sentiment I have not yet abandonned with the page, but also because of the expression of the book itself: http://www.namelessart.zoomshare.com/ 1.shtml/xfaq/items/lxsN/ From one artist to another, I recommend it. Emma [Bovary]'s affairs are like (though definitively more insipid) the affairs a passionate and prideful artist has with her work.

Your work has really grown
I'm amazed at the color in your work, it has been so long since I've seen any but the figures actually having color and dimension is a real growth, and I guessing its been more of a personal one than artistic, but it also still intrigues me that I am drawn more to your monochromatic pieces than the colorful ones, but I like to see the color in your work, and the fact that you have moved to brown as the dominant color instead of black.

To paint is to love again. It's only when we look with the eyes of love that we see as the painter sees. His is a love that is free of possessiveness; what the painter sees he is duty bound to share. Usually he makes us see what ordinarily we ignore, or are immune to. His manner of approaching the world tells us, in effect, that nothing is vile or hideous; nothing is stale flat and unpalatable, unless it be our own power of vision. To see is not merely to look; one must look-see. Henry Miller. That is my favorite take on what we do, but your thoughts move me as well. Looking forward to showing you some of my stuff next time I'm in the quarter. (I quoted from memory, so punctuation is approximate, and I may have misquoted a bit. The gist of it is right though.)

wow, strange that I come upon your site this moment. some deeper joy arises again somehow. your shape is still blurred, still a bit mysterious. you had such an incredible output when we split last time, I felt so amiss. And I was so young. Kind of weird that I understood only half of what you were trying to explain to me, although I never found out if you had noticed. And now that I see your paintings again I remember this beautiful sensitivity, which was by then impossible to grasp for me. What a gem if I could not even today! - to solve this riddle.. we split in Prague when you were on your Europe journey, coming from the eastern germany, having met in Berlin first ... and now... what keeps you busy? what lets you rest? sincerely

Hello and Im excited to find you. I recently visited New Orleans and purchased your painting "Forming" from Decatur Street. Took no thought, just saw it and bought it. I was anxious to find out about the artist and am thrilled to find you. I wish I had known you had more art in New Orleans while there, I would have followed. Great, moving, thought provoking...am very impressed. More so impressed with your views in life. I must say that I tend to like your earlier work like the one purchased that are simple and the use of brown draws me to your attention. Thank you for your inspiration and I will continue to watch you grow with future purchases to come.

Moving forward, the exploration into other mediums should provide an excellent venue for her to express her unconstrained viewpoint on the world that surrounds us all.

bruised bruises and other virulent strains

With much love and gratitude, Your Mom

- to solve this riddle.. we split in Prague when you were on your Europe journey, coming from the eastern germany, having met in Berlin first ... and now... what keeps you busy? what lets you rest? sincerely

Hi Jamie; I bought a small painting from you this past Monday on Royal St. in NO. It is 4"x6" of a blond young man with piercing blue eyes. Could not find him under your "current" paintings. Maybe because it's very resent. Does it have a title? It is dated on its side 2010. I would love to know if you'd given it a name.
