Black and white Commisioned Portrait

A black and white portrait is as classical as it gets.
Drawn with charcoal, carbon pencil or graphite. Paper is archival 9" x 12".  The main differences between a portrait study & a commisioned portrait are:
-Time. We will discuss when you can expect your piece to be finished and at your door. This will depend upon how many commisions I am currently working on.
A commisioned portrait is something to keep in your family for generations, unlike a study portrait I will work on your piece until you are 100% satisfied. 
- A commisioned drawing can be done from a live sitting or from photo. The first step will be emailing me your photo source to see how we can go from there. 
- 1/2 the cost will be put down at the begining once all terms have been agreed upon. The other 1/2  will be paid prior to shipping after proofs have been shared.

Commisioned Painting  :

-A painting can be done in oil. Scale starts at 9" x 12" and goes to 18" x 24". Work will be done on archival canvas or panel. It can be monochromatic or full color depending on preference.

- Through email we can decide if the painting will be done in a tighter classical style or a more interpretive painterly style.  

​-A commisioned portrait will take a number of weeks to complete. 

-It can be painted live, remotely through live zoom sessions or from photo. Photos should be clear, with strong shadows shapes and form. 

-The piece can be portrait or full figure, additional figures will add more to the cost. 

- 1/2 the cost will be put down at the begining once all terms have been agreed upon. The other 1/2  will be paid prior to shipping after proofs have been shared. 

-Just as with the drawings, I will stay in contact with you periodically checking in as the painting develops. The painting will not be sent until you are 100% pleased with it.
